The past couple weeks have been very busy for Aspen. It's like she decided to do everything at once, lol.
Right after New Year's Day her first tooth broke through. I thought I felt something under her gums the week before, but couldn't really see anything. She wasn't being unusually fussy or anything, so I wasn't sure what was going on, although I suspected she may be getting something. A couple days later the top of the tooth broke through. She did great with it, which suprised me because most babies (Max included) are usually fussy while teething. I hope this is an indication of how she will do with the rest of her teeth. That would be SOooo nice! You still can't see it much unless you get really close, but it's there! You can't see it here but I'm really going to miss that gummy grin!

Then the week before New Year's we found Aspen standing alone next to her exersaucer. She's been cruising around furniture and stuff for a while, but she's never really let go and stood without holding on. That day she had a teething ring in her hand and was trying to get it in her mouth while standing next to the exersaucer. We looked over and there she was standing without any support holding onto the teething ring. It was so funny because we thought it looked like she was trying to be sneaky. Like she didn't want us to know she could stand without help, lol. Anyways, of course we got the camera out and made her do it in the middle of the floor. In this video she does really well the first time, but then stops trying. It's still funny to watch us try to get her to do it. I'll try to get a better video of her standing soon.
She also started saying her first "real" word. She's been making sounds for a couple months, like Dada, baba and other babble. But I've been trying to get her to wave and say "Bye-Bye" for a couple weeks. Finally this week she started saying Bye and doing a wave. It's soooo cute!! So far she'll only do it when prompted, but it's still really adorable. My FAVORITE part of this video is the very last second when she busts out with this big southern Byyyyyeee.
And FINALLY this week she figured out how to crawl. I was beginning to wonder if she was ever going to crawl because she never wanted to sit down. She just wanted to stand all the time. But she did finally figure it out. This video is the first one I did of her and I really need to do another one because she's gotten SOOOOO much better since that first day. Plus I need to do one where she is her usual happy self, hehe.
