My Max

I love how he always says, "Mommy, I love you bigger than space."

 

I love listening to him singing in the truck when he thinks no one is listening, "Daddy is the best! Daddy is the best dad ever!"

I love how he takes Aspen's hand when we are out and she starts to wonder off. She lets him bring her back to where she needs to be.

I love how he takes pride in his new room and always keeps it clean without me having to ask him.

I love how he never lets us forget to say the blessing before every dinner...no matter if we are at home or at a restaurant.

I love this boy and I'm so lucky to be his momma

Little Smartie

I have to do a little brag post on Aspen. The other day (about a week ago) I have a University of Louisville shirt on and I was showing Max all the different letters and words on the shirt. Aspen was there with us at the time so I showed her the letters too and she said them and repeated each one. So today after a week, I had the same shirt on and she noticed. So I asked her where the "O" was and she showed me. Then she found the "I", the "T" the "S" and the "V" without me having to tell her where they were. I thought that was pretty impressive for only being 19 months old and having only showed her one time a week before.

Little Piggies

Aspen's hair is getting longer and thicker...slowly but surely. I can put bows in it sometimes. I did real pigtails the other day. Her first ever!

Decorations at Stuckyville

I didn't really buy much this year, but I can't wait to add more to our decorations for next year! Now that we have a place that we actually want to decorate, it will be loads of fun to do a lot more than we did this year.

Max wanted a Christmas tree in his room, so I let him and Aspen each get a little tree for their rooms. Aspen's is pink and Max picked out a white one.




We put the Christmas tree in the front room. I wanted it right in front of the window, but with the little couch there, it would have seemed really crowed, so it's off to the side.


The mantle. The cool thing about our mantle is there are three sides to it. So I kinda did a different thing on each side.

Some lights in a glass pitcher in the kitchen.


The snowmen figurines on the tv. The one with the tall hat is an LED one that changes colors. It's neat.


Welcome snowman sign on the front steps. The lights went out on the sign, so I just wrapped some lights around it, lol.


The wreath is the one thing we did buy new this year. It's one with LED lights and looks really nice lit up at night.


And my little Christmas children. Max wanted to take pictures for Curt since he was out of town. So he put a nice outfit on and I put a dress on Aspen and they sat in front of the tree for pictures.

Playing Catch Up

I can't believe how much I slacked off on the blog the past couple months. I have a good excuse though. Still trying to get everything set up in the house. We're almost there and it really feels like home now. I've been working a lot more lately, so between that and the kiddos, life is a little hectic. But I want to play catch up on some stuff, so I'm going to make a few posts here.

18 month appointment

Aspen had her 18 month appointment last Wednesday (November 17th). I love my pedi office and always look forward to her well checks. We saw the NP that day and she spent about 30 minutes with us playing with Aspen and evaluating her milestones. It's so nice to just be able to TALK to a professional about your child and be reassured that everything is going as it should.
Aspen talked quite a bit for her and she was really impressed with her vocal skills at this point. She has no problem speaking her mind and getting her point across, lol.

She's hit a mini growth spurt as well. She is now up to 19lbs 6oz and was 29" tall. Still not on the chart, but getting closer!

Other than that, she got two shots, screamed bloody murder then asked for a sucker and was fine!
